From the manufacturer
A Cut above the rest
Dominating the everyday carry, folding pocket knife market, Kershaw creates high-quality, high-performance, exceptional, working tools and knives affordable to all consumers.
Kershaw Static
With its cleaver-shaped blade, the Static excels at cutting, slicing, and chopping. The blade is sturdy, just under three inches long, and features a slightly curved belly for enhanced versatility. The cleaver-style tip provides good piercing capabilities while retaining the characteristic cleaver shape. The blade steel is quality 8Cr13MoV to take and hold a work-worthy edge, no matter the demands of the task. The Static opens one-handed with KVT ball-bearings and a flipper. A sturdy frame lock keeps the blade secure while you work.
The Static’s stainless steel handle features angled machining that adds to the knife’s good looks and provides traction for a solid grip. The gray PVD coating is hard and wear resistant. All this makes the Static is an ideal work and utility knife that's also easy to EDC. It folds down to a compact 3.8 inches and slides neatly into your pocket. The deep-carry pocketclip is left/right reversible and allows the knife to ride comfortably low in your pocket.

Steel TypeA budget friendly, reliable, top-of-the-line Chinese produced steel, 8Cr13MoV steel has carbon and slightly less nickel for hardness and edge retention. Kershaw’s precision heat treated 8Cr13MoV steel strongly takes and holds an edge and offers wear resistance that can withstand damage from both abrasive and adhesive wear. 8Cr13MoV is a value blade steel featuring high performing characteristics. |
Blade FinishWhen a knife design requires a lighter blade to highlight the steel, Kershaw often applies a satin finish. Satin finishes, whether machine-generated or otherwise, leave faint patterns of lines on the steel, and while they sand away the steel’s brightness, they do not remove it as completely as do other finishes. A satin finish also helps reduce evidence of stains and scratches on the blade. |
LockingKershaw’s frame lock design makes knives safer, securer, sturdier and quicker for one-handed blade deployment. The knife handle, or frame, has two metal plates on either side of the blade, and when open, the lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent blade closure. To close the knife blade, push the frame to the side to unlock the blade and fold the blade back into the handle. |
Classic Manual OpeningFlippers on manual-open knives require user to push with quick strength until blade deploys. Some manual flippers disappear when blade deploys, others become a finger guard. Manual flippers appeal to inexperienced users as well as experienced users who prefer a classic, old-style opening. In both cases, ambidextrous flipper works as index finger applies pressure while closed knife sits in palm. |

It is a cool little knife, and would make a cool gift. If this were gonna be my only everyday pocketknife, I'd buy something else. If I'm throwing it in a box with a dozen other 3-inch folders, then buy this guy. Recommended.

After all that rabbiting on, when I use this guy, he slices well because of the profile but honestly because of the tip it just works well. It doesn't wobble or play side to side and it's cheap enough that when I eventually bash this guy to pieces I can get a new one.
It has things on it that I'd expect on a much higher end model but for right now the quality is just eight for a work tool that I'm happy to take anywhere in my pocket.
Im new to reviewing stuff so sorry if I mess this stuff up or talk too much on the wrong topic but I have only reviewed the things that are worth getting again in my opinion, everything is worth trying in my opinion if you had all the money in the world but this is something that I would actively seek out to get again
