Rose Damascus SteelA brand new exclusive version, using rose Damascus steel and pickling treated to create beautiful texture. Still with perfectly blends edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. |
BladeWe were very careful in our consideration of the blade thickness of the Crag, we wanted to make sure that the blade could be heavily used while also not being so thick that it would bind up on material or get stuck. The perfect mid-point ended up being 0.13”, just thick enough for big tasks but still thin enough behind the edge to be an effective slicer. |
Cutting ProfileA cleaver style blade is a perfect choice for those who tend to do larger cutting tasks on a regular basis, the wide profile allows the blade to glide through material much more easily and with substantially more control than a thinner knife. The squared off tip increases the overall durability of the knife while still allowing it to deal with finer tasks. |

Handle MaterialCarbon Fiber adds just a touch of class to this otherwise beefy blade. We use a Carbon Fiber laminate that is smooth to the touch and extremely durable and resistant to moisture and temperature changes. The smooth finish is exceptionally comfortable in the hand and helps to elevate this knife to something with just a little bit more swagger. |
FeaturesIn order to ensure smooth and fast operation we’ve outfitted the Crag with a ceramic ball-bearing pivot construction which allows for quick and snappy one-handed flipper deployment and smooth closing action. A ceramic detente ensures that this knife will maintain crisp, snappy action for a lifetime of use. |
ClipThe Crag features a blacked-out deep-carry clip that sinks all the way into the pocket ensuring that your knife won’t get caught on any wayward surfaces. We’ve also included a large lanyard hole that is compatible with 550 paracord or leather cordage for those who prefer to carry their knives using a lanyard. |

Since I just picked up the knife today, I took a closer look at it . The quality of this Crag model is impressive. The blade has a good lock up with the liner lock system . Although, upon inspection, there is no steel block insert in the liner lock to assist with the wear on the liner, but this is a " budget" knife, so this is not a "deal breaker." The model that I received had no directional "play," and when I used the thumb flipper, it was firm yet smooth upon the blade deployment. The one thing that I noticed was that the edge was not sharp, so I had to sharpen it. I used my WorkSharp Precision sharpener at a 23 degree angle and started with 600 grit and, then, 800 grit, 20 passes on each side of the blade, starting from tip to heel using a " pull" motion. Reason I started from the tip is to maintain the point and avoid the "rounding" effect.
Overall, after I was done sharpening the blade, the black PVD finish was unblemished and the blade has a sharp working edge. 23 degree sharpening angle is a compromise for the blade to have a durable yet sharp edge. (The thinner the angle will result in a less durable edge but closer to being "razor like" sharpness so it is a trade off.) I'll have to see how the knife performs at work, but I think it will be a definite winner. If you are looking for potentially good, but budget value knife, this one is worth considering since it has a nice thick blade stock as well as a nice, firm and smooth"flipper" system. Also, if you are looking for an easy sharpening system and have troubles using whetstones for sharpening, the WorkSharp Precision Elite Sharpener is an excellent alternate choice.

I've purchased 3 Crags, as it's my No. 1 for EDC...I lost the first one, and replaced it. The third is my wife's.
The replacement was every bit as consistent as the first one. Repeatable production quality is rare at any price point anymore, but CJRB nailed it.
Symmetrical blade, centered in the handle, and sharp as a razor right out of the box.
Been carrying this specific model for over 3 years now, and I find it beyond sturdy, versatile and able to do precision cuts, as well as hack through the occasional tougher material without chipping, bending or needing to be resharpened.
A little light hone here and there, and it's good as any of the more expensive knives I've owned.
